Project Overview
Client: Pharmeculate
Location: North Africa
Year of Commissioning: 2017
Application: Boiler feedwater for thermal power generation
Capacity: 314 m³/h
Project Background
To support steam generation in a thermal power plant, a high-purity demineralized water system was required. The feedwater was sourced from subsurface aquifers, with seasonal silica fluctuations posing a challenge to water quality stability.
Engineering Solution
The system was designed to deliver ultrapure water with conductivity below 0.1 µS/cm. The treatment process included:
Pretreatment
Sand filtration
Cartridge filtration
Reverse osmosis (RO)
Ion exchange (cation, anion, mixed-bed)
Neutralization and polishing (NP)

The design was developed in collaboration with Filmtec and R&H, ensuring optimal membrane and resin performance. The modular configuration enabled operational flexibility and future scalability.
Operational Results
The system has consistently delivered high-quality demineralized water for boiler feed, supporting uninterrupted thermal power generation.
Regional Impact
This project contributed to energy security in the region by enabling stable power production. Its compact design and robust performance made it a reference for similar installations in North Africa.
