Boiler Feed water for Pharmaceutical Plant

Project Overview

Client: Pharmacies

Location: Middle East

Year of Commissioning: 2013

Application: Boiler feed water for steam generation

Capacity: 288 m³/h

Project Background

The pharmaceutical plant required high-purity boiler feed water to support steam generation for production. The feed water was a mix of surface and pretreated water, with seasonal variations in turbidity and mineral content.

Engineering Solution

The system was designed to deliver ultrapure water with conductivity below 0.1 µS/cm. The process train included:

Sand filtration

Cartridge filtration

Reverse osmosis (RO)

Ion exchange (cation, anion, mixed-bed)

Neutralization and polishing (NP)

Design was executed in collaboration with Filmtec and R&H, ensuring optimal membrane and resin performance.

Operational Results

The system has operated reliably, providing consistent boiler feed water quality and supporting uninterrupted pharmaceutical production.

Regional Impact

The project enabled steam generation for critical pharmaceutical processes, improving production efficiency and supporting public health infrastructure.
