Treated water for steel production

Project Overview

Client: Steel Factory

Location: Middle East

Year of Commissioning: 2017

Application: Treated water for steel production

Capacity: 6,000 m³/day

Project Background

The steel plant required a reliable source of treated water to support its production processes. The feed water was a combination of surface water and pretreated effluent, with seasonal fluctuations in quality and high levels of suspended solids.

Engineering Solution

The treatment system was designed to deliver 6,000 m³/day of high-quality water. The process train included:

Sand filtration

Activated carbon filtration

Cartridge filtration

Reverse osmosis (RO)

The system was pre-assembled and delivered in modular skids, enabling full installation within 20 days. Membranes were supplied by Filmtec.

Operational Results

The plant has consistently produced high-quality water for steel production, with minimal maintenance and high operator satisfaction.

Regional Impact

This project enabled water reuse and reduced freshwater dependency, contributing to sustainable industrial growth in the region.
